Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility is gearing up for the release of a new software update for its DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD handsets on shelves at Verizon.

The new software, set to arrive on devices as version 0.7.2.XT926.Verizon.en.US, will bring along a series of security enhancements to these smartphones, while also adding some extra features into the mix.

Following the update, users will benefit from support for the Isis mobile payment service, a feature that has been long rumored to be en-route to Verizon’s devices.

“Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, 0.7.2.XT926.Verizon.en.US, for your DROID RAZR HD by Motorola. Verizon Wireless and Motorola encourage you to download this update,” the company notes on its support website.

The release notes for the update unveil the fact that an updated Google Security Patch has been included in the new firmware version.

Moreover, Verizon explains that support for Isis Mobile Wallet has been added into the mix as well. Both DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD will benefit from the feature.

“Take advantage of Tap to Pay with Isis Mobile Wallet. Isis Mobile Wallet holds virtual versions of most things your existing wallet does-this includes your credit and debit cards. Just tap your phone to pay at any Isis Ready merchant,” the wireless carrier notes.

Verizon hasn’t provided specific info on when the update will be delivered to its users, but they can check to see if it has arrived by heading to Settings > About phone > System updates > Download.

Those who would like to learn more info on the Isis Mobile Wallet should head over to this page on the wireless carrier’s website.

Additional info on the new firmware version, including instructions on how to perform the update, can be found on the operator’s support portal.
