A few days after it had added the DROID Charge to its portfolio, Amazon Wireless has recently dropped DROID Incredible 2's price, which is now available for only $79.99 with a new two-year agreement.

DROID Incredible 2 is currently available for purchase via Verizon for $199.99 with a new two-year plan, which makes Amazon's offer an excellent deal for customers looking for a superior Android smartphone.

Those who want to avoid being tied to a long-term contract will have to pay 489.99 upfront if they decide to go for the Amazon Wireless offer.

However, it seems that Verizon's suggested retail price is $50 cheaper than Amazon's price, as customers can purchase the DROID Incredible 2 for only $439.99 off-contract.

Manufactured by HTC, the DROID Incredible 2 is the sequel of the popular DROID Incredible that was introduced via Verizon one year ago.

The DROID Incredible 2 runs the Android 2.2 Froyo platform and is powered by a single core 1 GHz MSM8255 Snapdragon processor manufactured by Qualcomm, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.

It appears that HTC plans to upgrade the smartphone's software in the near future, but Gingerbread for the DROID Incredible 2 has yet to be announced.

One of the sleekest Android smartphones available via Verizon, the device is equipped with a superior 4-inch superLCD touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It packs 1.1 GB ROM, 768 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as HTC Sense user-friendly interface for maximum customization and functionality.

DROID Incredible 2 boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual LED flash, automatic face detection, as well as camcorder capable of capturing 720p HD videos.

In addition, the phone comes with a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video-calls, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot feature.
