Wireless services provider Verizon is expected to launch in the near future a new mobile phone that would provide its customers with support for the 4G LTE network it is operating in the United States, the Motorola DROID Bionic.

The wireless carrier has unveiled the new handset several months ago, but delayed its release as Motorola decided to make a series of changes to the handset's design.

However, it seems that the Motorola DROID Bionic is expected to arrive on shelves no later than September, and that more confirmation on the matter emerged.

Motorola already said that they were targeting September as the release time-frame for the new mobile phone, and Verizon's website is currently confirming the sale availability window.

The Motorola DROID Bionic has got its own coming soon page on Verizon's website, and it says that the device will land in September.

Moreover, a video teaser for the mobile phone is now available for your viewing pleasure, and it mentions September as the expected release time frame as well.

The Motorola DROID Bionic will be the fourth Android-based smartphone at Verizon to sport LTE connectivity.

The handset should arrive on shelves with appealing features and capabilities, including a large, 4.3-inch touchscreen display, and a powerful dual-core application processor.

Moreover, the mobile phone would include an 8-megapixel photo snapper, along with microSD memory card slot for expanding the available internal memory.

In addition to LTE, the Motorola DROID Bionic is expected to sport CDMA connectivity as well, along with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.

Moreover, we should note that the mobile phone is expected to run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and to feature support for a wide range of services from the company, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

The exact release date of DROID Bionic remains a mystery at the moment, as well as the official price tag it would feature when released, though rumors placed it at the $300 mark with a two-year contract agreement. (via)
