Mobile phone maker Motorola and wireless carrier Verizon are gearing up for the release of a new device running under Google's Android operating system, supposedly dubbed Motorola DROID 2 Global. As the name suggest, we're looking at a smartphone with global connectivity options on board which, it seems, should land in two different color flavors, namely White and Black.

A few days ago, leaked internal documents from Verizon Wireless showed two DROID 2 Global SKUs, which were supposed to point at one model with the camera, and another one without the snapper, the same as DROID Pro allegedly comes to shelves.

However, a recent article on BGR suggests that we're actually looking at two different colors of the device, as a shot of Costco's inventory system shows.

The two SKUs of DROID 2 Global were spotted in the Costco inventory system, with the only difference between them being the color.

According to BGR, the DROID 2 Global is expected to land on shelves at Verizon Wireless in November in White and Black, and should sport a price tag of $199.99 attached to it when purchased with a contract agreement.

The handset should be a very powerful Android device, that's for sure, especially with that rumored 1.2GHz application processor Motorola packed inside it.

What is still not known for sure on it is the release date, but it might not be too long before the smartphone is made official, as long as no delays emerge. The DROID 2 Global surfaced for the first time a few months ago, and made a brief appearance on Motorola's website not too long ago, suggesting that it is a real device, and that the company is gearing up for its release.

As stated above, the phone is slated for a November release at Verizon, which means that all the necessary info on it should start emerging shortly, so keep an eye on this space for more on it.

We should also note that, along with news on the two DROID 2 Global color versions, reports on a T-Mobile Comet surfaced, expected to land on November 3rd for $149.99 on contract.
