Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been long rumored to be on its way to bring to the market a new DROID incredible device from HTC, and it appears that the arrival of this handset is closer than one might expect.

Following a series of unverified rumors on this device, a photo with it has just made an appearance into the wild, unveiling a few more details on the smartphone.

We should note right from the beginning that the handset is reportedly one and the same as the HTC Mecha that we spotted not too long ago on HTC's HTCSense.com portal.

While the upcoming smartphone might arrive on shelves outside the US as HTC Mecha, it is expected to make an appearance on the US market at Verizon as the DROID Incredible HD by HTC.

According to a recent article on Android Central, which brought the photo with DROID Incredible HD to the Internet, the smartphone should run under Google's Android 2.2 OS at launch, with the new HTC Sense on board.

Moreover, we should expect it to boast support for LTE connectivity, a feature confirmed by the appearance of a 4G symbol right at the top of the screen.

Basically, this means that Verizon too will soon offer its customers the possibility to enjoy faster speeds on its network via a new HTC smartphone, following the launch of similar device at Sprint (the EVO 4G) and T-Mobile (the myTouch 4G).

The available info on this smartphone suggest that it would be able to offer users speeds of up to 9Mbps on the downstream, while being capable of 5Mbps on the upstream.

All in all, it appears that the new smartphone would indeed be capable to prove itself a true Incredible HD device, provided that all of the above details pan out in the end.

However, nothing is official on it for the time being, not to mention that no specific info on when the handset would land on shelves emerged.
