Symantec has made available an interesting FAQ in which it details everything a regular user might want to know about the infamous DNSChanger malware.

As many internauts are aware, a federal court has decided that July 9 is the last day in which the replacement DNS servers, which kept the infected machines connected to the Internet, will function.

Because after July 9 the infected machines will no longer be able to connect to the web, a number of organizations and ISPs, led by the DNS Changer Working Group have been struggling to alert affected individuals and help them get rid of the malware.

However, many users still don’t fully comprehend what’s going on and that’s where Symantec’s FAQ steps in.

It details the malware itself, DNS settings, protection against the threat, the reasons for which the cybercriminals relied on rogue servers, and many other things related to DNSChanger.

The FAQ is available here.
