A couple of days ago, George Zimmerman launched a challenge asking for applicants to a celebrity boxing match he planned on taking part in. In short, he offered any man the chance to get with him in the ring for 3 rounds – and 15,000 wanted said chance.

Rapper DMX was chosen, but not before he boasted online and to the media that he was itching to beat the living daylights out of the former community guard who, in 2012, shot and killed an unarmed African American teen, Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges in June 2013, but the verdict and indeed the entire case generated a lot of controversy because of its racial implications. In this context, it’s easy to understand why DMX would want to be the one to beat up Zimmerman.

Still, his rep tells TMZ, despite the fact that the boxing match was confirmed by the organizer, DMX isn’t entirely on board just yet – not until he gets the kind of money he wants in exchange for the chance to turn Zimmerman into a punching bag.

“The rep Domenick Nati tells us, DMX verbally agreed to ‘beat Zimmerman's [butt]’ IF and when he sees the terms of a contract, which hasn't happened yet. Once an agreement has been finalized, we're told DMX will officially be down for the bout,” the celebrity publication writes.

For the time being though, negotiations are still underway.

However, that’s not what promoter Damon Feldman said the day before, when he confirmed that the celebrity match would see the rapper and Zimmerman go up against each other in the boxing ring.

The rapper himself boasted of the destruction he was about to unleash on Zimmerman, who explained he had been training with this event in mind for months. “I am going to beat the living [expletive] out him… I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I [expletive] him right up,” DMX said, adding that he would end the match by relieving himself on Zimmerman’s face.

On his part, Zimmerman has only said that he planned to donate the money he made from the match to charity. The exact date, location, and time of the fight will be revealed next week.
