Prequels and sequels about the characters

The PlayStation 3 is certainly picking up Steam these days as not only did it see quite a few high-end titles arrive for it, but the recent announcement of the PlayStation 3 Slim, for a lower price, was certainly great news for all of the gamers who put off buying one.

With other titles like God of War III or Gran Turismo 5 set to appear, things are going to be filled with action for the console. But one of the titles that promise to deliver a more intricate story will be Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain adventure game, in which you will delve deep into a complicated story, as it happened with other titles from the studio, like Indigo Prophecy or Omikron.

In an interview with Videogamer, the founder of the studio, David Cage, talked about the newest trend in gaming, DLC, and how the game would feature a complete story on the retail disc and might, just might, receive a few prequels or sequels in regard to the characters featured in the game via DLC.

“It's a self-contained experience. We won't release the end of the game as DLC that you need to pay for. The game has all the scenes it's supposed to have. It's a complete story,” Cage revealed. “But we are talking with Sony at the moment about having maybe extra downloadable content, maybe with prequels or sequels about the characters. I'm sure people will get attached to some of them and will want to know them even better.”

A longer story is always a good thing and, with the promise of many hours spent finding out who the Origami Killer in Heavy Rain is, things will certainly be very interesting. Hopefully this eventual DLC will blend right in and offer more answers to fans who will be engaged in the story. Look forward to the title at the beginning of next year, only on the PlayStation 3.
