Schafer confirms

Brutal Legend has been released for some time now and every gamer that picked it up finished the single player element and experienced some of the strategic minded multiplayer is probably wondering whether the developers are planning to release any new content for the game or whether it's a good candidate for second hand sales.

The leader of creator Double Fine, Tim Schafer, is saying that players who love metal should hang on to their game as 2010 will bring both fixes, which he calls “tunning patches,” and downloadable content for the metal infused gaming experience.

Tim Schafer, who has overseen the development of Brutal Legend from day one, is not concerned about the fact that the game has not attained blockbuster status, telling GamePro that he is not going to assess the sales performance of his game until after Christmas.

In the meantime, the developer states he is playing with regular gamers and that “It's very interesting and a new experience for me to be talking to players directly. We're online with our headsets battling, and they're telling me exactly what they think about the game and it's a whole new experience for me. It's really fun to be playing on a team with other players swapping strategies and going head-to-head with people who are better than me at my own game.”

Schafer did not elaborate on when the tuning patches would begin arriving for the multiplayer and the single player components but said that his team was interested in focusing on aspects that are not working right and eliminate them one at a time, rather than rushing to fix everything at once.

Brutal Legend is also set to receive DLC content but neither Double Fine nor publisher Electronic Arts are talking about a time frame for the release, other than saying it is coming in 2010.
