The music game genre is on a high ascending trend these days, and it is set to dominate the holiday season sales this year. Because these titles offer quite a lot of entertainment, and because gamers can play their favorite tracks along with their friends, you can be sure that games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band will be best sellers.

But although up until now this kind of games have only focused on rock music, and the music that you can play with a guitar, drums or vocals, things will change, if you take into account Activision's rumored title DJ Hero. The game, which is still unannounced, relied heavily on rumors and speculation in order to create such hype around it. Although some sources declared that a peripheral, in the form of a DJ stand, would certainly be made for this game, not a lot was known regarding the artists that would appear on it.

That is, until a presumed newsletter made by the very popular DJ Tiesto surfaced, in which he stated that he was very happy to collaborate with Activision for this future game. But, although quite a lot of people took that as a concrete confirmation that the game would be made, and that the Dutch DJ would have his tracks on it, it seems that it was all a fake. The DJ's manager has recently made a statement in which he said that the newsletter that confirmed his client's work with the gaming corporation was a work of fiction and that the DJ didn't make such statements.

“There has been a lot of talk concerning an alleged quote from Tiesto about being involved in Activision's possible DJ Hero video game. This information was based on a fictitious news item, posted on a third party online forum. After the blogger posted the news item, falsely claiming that it was taken from a Tiesto newsletter, the quote was picked up on numerous websites and appeared in various articles, creating the impression that it had come from an official source. Tiesto has never given a quote regarding DJ Hero.”

Although this statement says that the Dutch disc jockey never admitted to his involvement with Activision, it doesn't deny the fact that he might appear in this possible game. Music fans still need to keep on hoping that the big gaming corporation will make an announcement soon with concrete details about this title.
