Actor DJ Qualls was just involved in an incident that prompted him to cry police brutality and contact the Vancouver Police Department in order to file a formal complaint. He wasn’t even guilty of anything, he says on Twitter.

The whole thing went down outside a café in Vancouver, where Qualls was shooting for an episode of “Supernatural,” as his tweets reveal.

He was coming out of the coffee shop when a fight broke and he saw a man punch a woman. When police arrived, they detained everyone who was present, regardless whether they’d been involved in the altercation or not.

One cop got a bit too overzealous and roughed up the actor a bit, leaving him with a broken, bleeding nose, and on the floor in handcuffs as he was trying to season with him, as the video below will confirm.

“Before it hit the news, just got out out of the ER, Was beaten by a Vancouver Police Officer for no reason. Got stitches and released,” Qualls tweeted after the incident.

“Was not arrested b/c was innocent. I was handcuffed and bleeding while the cop kept saying to me, ‘you think youre [expletive]-ing better than me?’” he added.

He says he approached the cop to tell him that he’d seen which of the men had punched the woman, but was told to leave or risk being arrested.

When Qualls asked why he should be the one to get arrested, the cop tackled him and “busted [his] face” in the process, the actor further explains.

Then, for half an hour afterwards, he just ignored him and let him lay on the ground regardless of the fact that he was bleeding profusely.

“Rpeatedly asked 4 his badge number and he said if I didnt shut up, Id be taken in. Finally got a card as I was taken to hospital,” the actor wrote.

“He said if I didnt get out of there, he’s arrest me, I asked why and he tackled me, busted my face and handcuffed me. Then taunted me for 1/2hr b4 the ambulance came. I was held, no calls, no attorney. AND I had to pay an $800 ER bill,” he further said.

Qualls is now asking for a proper apology from the officer who manhandled him and the payment of his hospitalization bills. Below is video of his explanation of the incident.
