Activision is bound to make even more money from the music game genre, as it already announced plans to expand its Guitar Hero lineup to new heights, officially presenting DJ Hero a few weeks ago. Coupled with partial shots of the turntable controller, people were left craving for more details.

Now, thanks to a report made by Game Informer, it seems that more details about the game have appeared, including information about the controller and a partial tracklist of titles that will be available for wannabe DJs to try and mix in order to become famous.

The turntable controller will have a second clip-on component that will include a cross fader, an effects dial and a Euphoria button, which is similar to the star power option on Guitar Hero games. The requisite D-pad and control pad buttons will also be present, but will be hidden by a flip-up cover. While the turntable will be silver, this new pad will come in a metallic gold scheme.

Gameplay details were also revealed by the magazine, as, in similar Guitar Hero fashion, the notes will cascade down the screen towards the players. There will be only three notes, but it is still quite tricky since, in addition to hitting those three, players must also have the cross fader in the correct position at that moment. Sustained guitar notes from the other games will be replaced by scratching sections, as small arrows will appear in the colored line telling you which way to turn the disc.

Also, a partial tracklist was revealed by the magazine, showing which songs you will have the honor of mixing up and turning into new hits.

"Feel Good Inc." (Gorillaz) vs "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" (Marvin Gaye)
"Jayou" (Jurassic 5) vs "Rockit" (Herbie Hancock)
"Bustin' Loose" (Chuck Brown) vs "Time of the Season" (The Zombies, DJ Shadow Mix)
"All Apologies" (Nirvana) vs "Give It to Me Baby" (Rick James, DJ Shadow Mix)
"Let's Dance" (David Bowie) vs "Jack of Spades" (KRS One, DJ Shadow Mix)
"Shout" (Tears for Fears) vs "Pjanoo" (Eric Prydz)

Overall, DJ Hero is looking quite interesting. What about you? Has this game convinced you to buy it or are you still on the fence? Leave us a comment with your decision.

You don't mix up or turn anything into new music in DJ Hero, you do that in Scratch.

For DJ Hero you just play prearranged notes set to a remixed song. It has nothing to do with DJing, hence the button on top of the record... which would never ever happen on real DJ equipment.
