The gaming industry has evolved over the years and with it its ability to market on almost any type of celebrity and custom make an experience based on his or her own input or skills. But although this is usually reserved for virtual characters that are the work of fiction, real-life people are also the subject of video games.

The latest one to get this treatment is Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, who will have a game made for him from Foreign Media Games. Scheduled for this fall, the title will be dubbed Armin van Buuren – In the Mix, and will be exclusive for the Nintendo Wii console. It will offer players the full DJ experience and will show them just what it is like to be a famous disc jockey, just like Armin.

Set to feature a lot of famous tracks and remixes from the renowned DJ, the game will also include unique, never-before-released material that will further enhance the whole experience and make for a must buy for music fans and for those who are excited about the artist's work, especially since he has been awarded the World's Best DJ prize for the second year in a row.

“I’ve been a huge games freak for years and I am, of course, a music fanatic,” Armin said. “Music mixing technology has improved enormously over the past few years. You can do a lot more with your choice of records and the various effects, making it even more fun to mesmerise your audience, take them on a musical journey and let them party on. Now you can discover how great it is to mix your own music in your own living room! This game shows you how I work as a DJ, but you can use your own style. Perfect your skills and make your friends and family totally crazy about Dance and Trance.”

It seems that after rock music, the electronic and house genres are up next for music games to use in order to attract new people into gaming. Look forward to this title in autumn, alongside other DJ-simulating ones like DJ Hero or Scratch: The Ultimate DJ.
