DIRECTV is yet another application that has been updated on Android devices recently, now available for download as version 2.5, providing users with the possibility to search and discover content using their voice.

According to the application’s release notes, all that users will need to do to take advantage of the feature is to start talking, the same as they would if a person was in front of them.

The updated software will also enable users to search for programs by mentioning the title, channel, keyword, actor, time frame, and genre. Additionally, the app will provide personalized recommendations as soon as the user switches to TV mode.

“Switch to TV mode to see your dialogue and search results on your TV screen. HD DVR (HR24+) required. Your phone and HD DVR must be connected to same Wi-Fi network,” the release notes unveil.
