Johan Andersson, the leader of the DICE development studio, says that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One have plenty of untapped potential that developers using the Frostbite 3 engine will be able to use for their upcoming titles.

Speaking to Tom’s Hardware, the executive explains that, “we got off from an extremely good start I think and we've spent a lot of time working on that to make sure that we got to that point, but there is still a lot of things about next-gen consoles that we can specifically optimize and utilize.”

The DICE developer also says that it is much easier to work on the new Sony and Microsoft platforms than it was on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

His studio is at the moment focused on creating more content for Battlefield 4, but it is also doing work on Star Wars: Battlefront and on Mirror’s Edge 2.

Other teams inside Electronic Arts are also using Frostbite 3 for their future titles.
