Federal and state agencies unite their forces to put and end to the deeds of the infamous hackers who are now considered to be a well-organized group that might present a threat to national security.

If up until now, it was believed that Anonymous was a leaderless organization, with a bunch of individuals that shared the same purpose who met in online environments, it is now believed that the cybercriminals have a clear hierarchy and someone at the top is coordinating all the activities of those who put together the tools required to complete their tasks.

Criminal Justice Degree Schools informs us on the cooperation that will take place between the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation after the threats aggravated from hacking TV presenters to allegedly leaking secret documents belonging to the state.

The department of Behavioral Science Unit recently made a study based on the entire internet activity of the gang, concluding that "The Anonymous ‘collective’ has risen from an amorphous group of individuals on the Internet to the current state of a potential threat to national security. Due to the nature of Anonymous, they believe that they are a leaderless collective. However, it has been shown that there is a defined leadership group."

"A thorough assessment of each UNSUB’s online activities, speech patterns, and general writings was collected by the FBI. Each UNSUB was individually assessed by members of the SBU (sic) and a psychological profile created from these datasets," the document further revealed.

State authorities are stepping it up a notch, deploying more aggressive tactics both in the real and the virtual world. Recent events and feuds between the FBI and the group show that the hackers are not ready to quit just yet, but on the other hand, neither will the good guys who are ready to come out with everything they've got to show them who the boss is.
