With the launch of the new 45nm-based Phenom II processors, Sunnyvale, California-based AMD has enabled a number of motherboard makers and PC vendors to roll out some new Phenom II-supporting products. Such is the case with one of DFI's upcoming board, which will be based on AMD's 790gX chipset and will boast a convenient Micro-ATX form factor. The motherboard maker is expected to roll out the new board early next month enabling computer enthusiasts and system makers to create new Phenom II-based systems that pack a serious performance punch in a small form factor.

The new board comes as an addition to the company's extensive lineup of AMD-based mobos. It is designed to provide users with support for AMD's latest 45nm AM3 Phenom II processors and the latest DDR3 memory. The board boasts a convenient mATX form factor, which enables the end-user to install the new LanParty JR 790GX-M3H5 in some of those HTPC-class chassis, enabling a high level of performance in a small form factor PC.

As far as technical specifications go, the upcoming DFI motherboard is based on a 4-layer black PCB and uses the 790GX chipset with support for 45nm AM3 Phenom II processors and DDR3 memory. There are 4 memory DIMMs on the board, offering support for a total of 8GB of memory with an additional 128MB of DDR3 through the SidePort memory integration.

Additionally, the LanParty JR 790GX-M3H5 will provide users with 2 PCI Express 2.0 slots with CrossFire and Hybrid CrossFire support, one PCI Express x1 and one PCI slot. Despite the small form factor, there are 6 SATA ports, 12 USB 2.0 ports, Marvell 8056 1GbE LAN and Realtek AL885 for HD audio.

No word on pricing just yet, but the guys over at vr-zone have managed to score some pictures of the upcoming board, which appears to be ready for launch.
