DDR2 800Mhz Memories for Notebooks

- Apacer brings high-speed DDR2 memories to mobile systems

Apacer Technology Inc. announced the completion of their latest high-speed DDR2 800 MHz SODIMM memory modules, which are especially designed for mini-PCs, performance IPCs and the newest high-end notebooks. The modules come in 512 MB and 1 GB sizes, and the 800 Mhz clocks deliver up to 6.4
GB/s of bandwidth, supporting the newest chipsets currently making their way from desktop to compact and notebook systems.

The 200-pin DDR2 800 MHz SODIMM uses only premium-grade DRAM chips for guaranteed reliability and long operating life. The modules integrate the Fine-Pitch Ball Grid Array (FBGA) chip technology, making for a slim and compact SODIMM footprint which saves PCB space inside mobile computers. This way, these SODIMM modules become ideal for space-critical or small form factor systems, providing excellent heat dissipation. In addition, Apacer's new memory modules operate at just 1.8 V to complement power-conserving CPUs and extend battery life of notebook computers for greater mobility and reliability.

The integrated On-Die Termination (ODT) technology allows for superior memory integrity by eliminating reflected electrical signals and significantly reduces signal noise for error-free data transfers during high-speed memory access. New generation DDR2 SODIMMs use an 8-layer PCB that greatly improves performance and stability.

Producing the new modules under the newest manufacturing processes, Apacer ensures strict quality control and testing phases, whereas all JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) specifications are met to ensure the highest compatibility, performance, and dependability. The improved memory modules bring the performance needed by Vista-powered systems for applications such as high-definition video playback, 3D games and CGI.

Every DDR2 800 MHz SODIMM comes with a lifetime warranty and is backed by Apacer's strong after-sales support. However, there is no word on the actual pricing, as of yet.
