Sony Online Entertainment has just deployed a brand new update for its DC Universe Online MMORPG, called the Deadly Double Cross, available for all players of the title, even those who just joined it after becoming free-to-play.
DC Universe Online delighted quite a lot of players earlier this year when it was released by Sony for the PC and PlayStation 3 console, but really became popular once the company dropped the subscription plan and turned it into a free-to-play online game.
Since then, the user base has
increased exponentially so, in order to keep the new users connected to the experience, SOE has just deployed a brand new free update, in the form of the Deadly Double Cross, that delivers a new Fortress of Solitude raid.
As players might remember, the last update, called Fate of the Fortress, saw them defeat Brainiac in Superman's famous Fortress of Solitude, only to be betrayed by General Zod.
"The Deadly Double Cross will begin where players left off – trapped in the The Fortress of Solitude: Sunstone Matrix where General Zod has seized control of the Sun Crystal Matrix Chamber," Sony has revealed about the new content.
"In the latest update, players will once again join forces with Superman and Lex Luthor in a heated battle to defeat double-crossing General Zodfor control over the Fortress of Solitude. Heroes and villains alike must team up to face the militant General Zod and his Kryptonian supervillain companions Non and Ursa."
Besides the new raid, special weapons and gears are also part of the update, including powerful Kryptonian military weapons forged from the Sunstone crystals themselves.
The DC Universe Online Deadly Double Cross update is now available as a free download from within the game for all players, including Free, Premium or Legendary ones.
