DC Universe Online has just received its first major update and add-on, which not only fixes a lot of issues but also brings new quests and campaigns.
DC Universe Online is Sony Online Entertainment's most popular online role-playing game, even if it was launched at the beginning of the year.
Now, the super-hero MMO has received its biggest patch yet, in the form of the Catwoman update.
We already detailed some of
the features the update brings, including new max-level quest lines that involve the famous cat burglar, special Valentine's Day-themed events and even a new Batcave raid, for groups of players.
Check out some of the main highlights and new features added to DC Universe Online with the launch of the new patch.
Character of the Month: Catwoman
-Catwoman Episode: Race across the rooftops of Gotham City as Catwoman tries to rob the Gotham Museum. In the storage vault, she unearths ancient Egyptian cat artifacts, turning security guards and innocent bystanders into lions, tigers, cheetahs and more. This episode features five boss battles, countless cats and culminates in Catwoman themed cut scene.
- Legends PvP: Catwoman is now a playable character in Legends “Play as Iconic” PvP mode
- Multiplayer Race: chase Catwoman across the rooftops of Gotham City with friends
- A New Suit of Armor: collect Ancient Mayan Armor and Cat Burglar gear
Seasonal Content: ”Love is a Battlefield”
The battles between Wonder Woman and Circe have disrupted the magical balance, upsetting the Goddess of Love. Fountains have sprung up across Metropolis allowing players to enter the cherub shadow realm, where - as cherubs - they can celebrate and fight to determine the true meaning of love.
- Collect Hearts: earn hearts through PvP, shoot love arrows at citizens, participate in multiplayer races, and dominate the platformer bounce houses to earn hearts. Players can use them to purchase chocolates, gifts, rings, etc. for other players
- PvP Battles: fight to dunk the other team into the fountain
- Battle The Goddess of Love: battle for the definition of love in this 4-player boss fight against the aspects of the Goddess of Love, Devotion and Scorn
- New Appearance Items: earn a harlequin clown suit with hearts and a Cherub disguise
- Be Mine: replay boss battles and try to get them to “be mine”
Additional Updates:
- Bane Duo: two-player battle against the villain
- Open World PvP: new Gotham PvP zone
- Batcave 2 Raid: new 8-player raid zone added to Batcave, where players will fight alongside Batman against Brainiac and Brother Eye
- Broker: players can visit the auction houses in the Watchtower or the Hall of Doom to swap gear with each other to get their hero or villain completely tricked out
- New collections, races and investigations
New Features:
* New Batcave Raid - 8 players will have the opportunity to infiltrate and retake Batman's Inner Sanctum, which has been overrun by OMAC and the Dark Knight's own corrupted technology. Fight along side Batman against Brother Eye!
* New Appearance Items - Earn a Harlequin Clown suit or a Cherub disguise through a variety of holiday activities.
* Goddess of Love Alert - Join up with three others to decide the epic battle between Devotion and Scorn once and for all.
* New Races - Can you catch Catwoman as she leaps across buildings in Gotham City?
* New Collections - All new collection sets will allow players to continue finding these hidden items.
* New Themed Missions - Enjoy various missions that will challenge the player in combat, jumping, and much more.
* A New Bane Duo - Another Duo has been added for your enjoyment! Pair up with another player and take on Bane for a chance at great loot.
* New PvP Ring Event - Available on both PvP and PvE servers, Heroes and villains race to either save or steal valuable bags of diamonds from armored vans.
* An Auction House - Players may now buy and sell tradeable items on a Broker in The Watchtower and Hall of Doom.
* New Armor - Make your way to the Gotham Museum and help Catwoman to receive pieces of brand new Mayan armor!

The Catwoman update will be downloaded automatically when you start up the online game on the PC or PlayStation 3.
