DAEMON Tools remains a very popular application these days, even though it comes with a price of $20 (€15), so the developing team behind the project keeps releasing updates on a regular basis.

DAEMON Tools Lite 4.48.1.0347 was officially released this morning and in addition to several improvements, it also comes with support for Windows 8.1, Microsoft’s operating system that got to see daylight on October.

In addition, the new version updates SPTD to build number 1.84, while image statistics are no longer collected.

Of course, the application continues to work just fine on basically all the other Windows versions on the market, including the aging XP, Windows 7 and Vista. Both 32- and 64-bit editions of the operating system are supposed to work just fine with the new Daemon Tools release.
