The thirteenth is the day when ATI shareholders will say the final yes. This is what a high-ranking source told to The Inquirer. The shareholders will be asked for the last time if they are ok to sell the stock to ATI. The acquisition comes as a blessing to them simply because they are going to earn so much money out of it.

It seems next Monday there won't be any ATI anymore, at least not the one we know about and week 42 means the final birth of DAAMIT.

If you are wondering how DAAMIT was conceived, you should know that back in July, AMD CEO Hector Ruiz said that with the merger of AMD with ATI the new company would be called DAAMIT. "We wanted to keep the letters from each company, but didn't like the looks of AMDATI. It lacks imagination. Our marketing team found DAAMIT appealed most to our focus groups."

DAAMIT is an ancient Incan word meaning "fleet of foot, speedy." He said, "That's the kind of company that we want to be." A representative from Intel chuckled when told of the new name, "We applaud this as a bold move by the company. We can't wait to see what they do next."

In the future, Intel could buy nVidia to compensate after AMD managed to get ATI. The big "concern" was that FCC wouldn't allow the deal, because a merge between Intel and nVidia would be death-blowing to other producers. AMD said that Intel operates as a virtual monopoly anyhow, but now that it has ATI in its pocket, it wouldn't look good at all for them if they used that argument.
