D2C games has also announced the D2Comics Initiative, the product of a collaboration between the developer and comic book writer Steve Niles.

The Initiative will
be a multi-format one, including traditional comics, a digital download and an episodic game in the works.

"Working with D2C Games and Bigdog Games has been a genuinely creative collaboration," Niles said in a statement. "I've had the ability to really take my vision and literally translate it to the precise interactive version. D2C has supported and trusted me to push the concept from beginning to end, which is a rarity in the gaming industry. This partnership is sure to continue to push out cool episodic titles."

A series of RTS sports title, dubbed 'Chalkboard Sports' was also announced, but the company hasn't mentioned the platforms it supported on mentioning only that it intends to publish "a variety of next-gen console and handheld platforms as well as 3G mobile devices and personal computers."

"D2C is committed to taking the casual game segment in a new direction by making games that are easy to pick up and play, tuned to maximize the fun factor, and socially connect players together both in game play and user driven content," Orr said in a statement.

D2C Games is also a licensed publisher of Sony and provides direct to customer game publishing services for independent studios. BigDog Games Studio is an internal studio of D2C games responsible for the development and technology for next-gen handheld, console, PC and mobile platforms.
