The newly released DIR-412 3.5G WWAN Router from D-Link is the company's broadband connectivity solution for those cases when a standard connection is unavailable or unsuited. The device allows multiple users to share the same 3.5G Internet connection and can serve both as a primary and a backup broadband connection (when connected to a DSL/cable modem). The gadget successfully combines accessibility with range and connection security.

The router will recognize any device with Wi-Fi capabilities and will allow multiple users to share the same Internet connection, equally distributing the broadband among all connected devices. While this may mean that the DIR-412 will likely see reduced speeds when handling too many items at once, it is still notable that, just by using a 3.5G USB adapter, many devices will be able to access the worldwide mobile broadband. In addition, the router itself is equipped with certain enhancing features, which make it both secure and flexible.

Specifically, the product makes use of dual-active firewalls (SPI and NAT) that shield end-users from potential intrusions or attacks, while not hindering in any way the connection's performance. Not only that, but the router even has extended range and speed thanks to the Wireless N 150 technology and will automatically connect to a 3.5G network in case the WAN connection fails. This is achieved thanks to the built-in WAN Failover support.

D-Links WWAN router supports multiple frequencies and the actual connection is done easily, through the press of the WPS button located at the top of the device.

"The DIR-412 is excellent for situations where conventional forms of network access are less than convenient," said Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East. "With the transition to wireless, this device provides users with an affordable 3.5G option that is also highly dependable."

Unfortunately, the company did not disclose any type of pricing or availability details.
