Most women have cellulite, no matter how much they weigh, which body shape they are, how hard they work out or whether they stick to a diet or not. Millions are spent on lotions and devices meant to fight the dreaded orange peel skin but, as many of you may have already learned, to little effect. For those who want a quick fix without having to sweat out and eat healthy all the time, D-Actor promises to offer a solution.

As per the Daily Mail, D-Actor works thanks to acoustic wave therapy (AWT) and targets dimples and areas that are most prone to cellulite, like the backside and the thighs. Though not much has been heard of the device just yet, it would seem that it renders such amazing results that even a sports-lover like Madonna has fallen for it. The singer reportedly bought one such device despite its £50,000 price tag, requesting to have it delivered to her home, says the tab.

“The Swiss-manufactured D-Actor device utilizes acoustic wave therapy (AWT) to target dimples. AWT is a procedure that has been used in the medical world for several decades to make kidney stones disintegrate and to ease joint pain. Its skin-smoothing abilities were discovered purely by chance. While treating the joints of female athletes, doctors noticed a marked improvement in the appearance of their thighs. Naturally, it wasn’t long before the beauty world took notice. The device works by blasting problem zones with compressed air, creating rapid pulsations on the surface, while sending pressure waves to the underlying skin where cellulite develops,” the Mail writes.

“The force of the acoustic shockwaves shatter and destroy the cellulite-causing connective fibers. The waves break down the fibrous walls to release clogged fat, water and toxins. The process stimulates the nerves and increases blood flow to treated areas, which produces fresh, thicker bands of collagen, as well as stronger and smoother skin,” Esther Fieldgrass, owner of the EF MediSpa in London’s Kensington, which offers now the treatment, says for the same publication.

The D-Actor can also be used on other areas of the body where cellulite is likely to appear, such as the abdomen and the arms. On the downside, one shouldn’t expect to lose weight by using it: it only works in terms of smoothing the skin and ridding oneself of cellulite.
