The Los Angeles County District Attorney has decided not to follow up on the Kanye West assault and battery case that took place earlier this month.

TMZ reports that the D.A. has rejected the case based on several arguments. The first was that Kanye and the victim of the alleged attack had reached a “civil compromise.” A second motive was the fact that “no significant injuries were documented” by the victim.

Finally, it was revealed that “prosecution was declined due to Victim unavailability,” meaning that the victim was no longer interested in pursuing the case any further and refused to cooperate with authorities.

We reported earlier this week that the rapper and the victim had managed to settle the case out of court for the hefty sum of $250,000 (€184,735). Kanye's lawyers managed to reduce the amount of money to be paid in damages after the victim initially requested significantly more, somewhere in the six figures neighborhood.

Kanye was being investigated by police after an incident that took place earlier this month. It's been reported that the entire incident occurred when Kanye jumped to his fiancée's defense, Kim Kardashian, as the victim hurled racist profanities at her.

The victim was holding the door open for her as she entered the chiropractor's office, “words were exchanged, and both parties report victim used a racial epithet,” the district attorney's statement says.

Kanye is said to have attacked the foul-mouthed 18-year-old in the office of a Los Angeles chiropractor's office by repeatedly punching him over the head. Despite the fact that a police report was filed, the victim declined to seek criminal prosecution, following their financial settlement.

This isn't the first time Kanye West has lost his temper and lashed out at people. Back in November, the rapper pleaded not guilty in court over charges of battery and attempted grand theft over an incident regarding a paparazzo at LAX which led to a physical altercation.
