Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic, is appealing to the Greek authorities to handle the case of imprisoned ArmaA 3 developers Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar with care in order not to damage bilateral relations between the two countries.

A letter from Klaus to Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias is quoted by Eurogamer as saying that, “I would like to address a matter of two Czech citizens who were arrested in Greece and charged with espionage. This case is very sensitive to the Czech public and also to me as President of the Republic. The fate of our citizens anywhere in the world matters to us.”

The Czech president also expresses trust in the Greek authorities and says that the pair of developers needs to have their rights respected.

Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar were arrested while they were allegedly on vacation in Greece and might get up to 20 years in prison.
