Enterprise security solutions provider Palo Alto Networks has acquired Morta Security, a startup that’s been operating in stealth mode since it was launched almost two years ago.

The acquisition of Morta enables Palo Alto to enhance its existing threat detection and prevention solutions. In addition, Morta has a team of experts who specialize in national infrastructure security.

“The Morta team brings additional valuable threat intelligence experience and capabilities to Palo Alto Networks,” noted Mark McLaughlin, president and CEO of Palo Alto Networks.

“The company’s technology developments align well with our highly integrated, automated and scalable platform approach and their contributions will translate into additive threat detection and prevention benefits for our customers.”

Raj Shah, CEO of Morta Security, says that his team is excited to start working with a successful company like Palo Alto Networks.

The financial terms of the deal have not been made public.
