Cyberpower PC, vendor of custom-built computer systems, has recently updated its product offering with the introduction of a new Core i7-based workstation that is meant to provide professionals with high-performance computer systems. From top to bottom, the new Power Mega 1000 is designed to offer users high-performance computing, being featured with hardware components that are specifically built for workstation computer systems.

Aside from the Nehalem-based Intel Core i7 920 processor, running at 2.66GHz, the Power Mega 1000 is equipped with one of NVIDIA's latest professional graphics cards, PNY-branded Quadro NVS420 with 512MB of DDR3 memory. The workstation is built on the ASUS P6T motherboard, offering support for triple-channel DDR3 1600 memory and SLI or CrossFireX multi-GPU technology. The system itself is equipped with 6GB of DDR3 memory and a 1TB SATA II 7200RPM hard drive.

Its high-performance Core i7 processor is cooled down by an Asetek Liquid CPU cooling system, designed to operate in a cool and silent 20dBA environment. Encased in an NZXT Whisper full-steel black tower case, the Power Mega 1000 looks ready to provide you with the necessary computing and graphics performance for you to turn in your projects in due time. Additional features include an optical Lite-On Blu-Ray writer, on-board HD Audio, a Logitech Deluxe 250 USB keyboard and an XtremeGear Optical USB mouse. Optionally, users can also add an LG 22X DVD RW optical drive, said to come at a “special price.”

Speaking of price, the Power Mega 1000 is listed at $1469 and is shipped with a Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. Given the technical specifications on the new workstation from Cyberpower, users will easily be able to upgrade the system's performance with the addition of faster hardware components, including new Socket 1366-compatible CPUs, more memory and better PCI-Express graphics cards.
