The open source SFTP (SSH Secure File Transfer) and FTP browser for Mac OS X, developed by David Kocher, Cyberduck, has reached version 3.1, adding Amazon CloudFront support (S3), as well as support for cloud files. Pre-configured protocol settings for MobileMe iDisk have also been added, this being just the tip of the iceberg as far as 3.1 enhancements are concerned.

Cyberduck uses a consistent graphical user interface for both SFTP and FTP browsing, supporting multiple connections at a time. Drag-and-drop is supported for transferring files between server and client, while a reliable transfer queue keeps track of the pending file transfers. Any file transfer can be stopped and resumed at any time, whether it's an upload or a download you're carrying out, with just a single command. Local files are synchronized with files on the server, while data integrates with Keychain, Rendezvous, and AppleScript.

Besides the newly added cloud support, new features in Cyberduck 3.1 include pre-configured protocol settings for MobileMe iDisk, the ability to send arbitrary commands over SSH using the “Send Command...” interface (SFTP), archive and unarchive files and folders (ZIP, TAR etc.) (SFTP), clickable URL fields, the ability to set quarantine attributes for launch services of downloaded files, a bouncing download folder in the Dock, a QuickLook button to toolbar configuration, NTLM Authentication, and more.

As for the bugs fixed in this version, the changelog reveals the following:

- Uploads fail with digest access authentication (WebDAV) - fixed;
- Microsoft SharePoint interoperability (WebDAV) - fixed;
- Manually sorting bookmarks using drag and drop now works for the entire row;
- Passwords stored in non default keychain are ignored.
