Boutique system vendor CyberPowerPC has just announced that it has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of the gaming oriented Zeus desktop system that is powered by Intel Core i7 or AMD FX-Series processors.

The initial Zeus rollout includes six models, four of these based on Intel’s recently unveiled Core i7-3820 processors, while the other two utilize AMD’s eight-core FX-Series CPUs.

No matter which one of the six base configurations one choses, the Zeus desktops can be equipped with a maximum 64GB of DDR3 system memory, up to four internal drives, delivering a total of 8TB of storage space, and various AMD or Nvidia graphics cards.

Dual-GPU setups are also supported, while the roomy Switch 810 Hybrid full-tower chassis to house the system also provides five external 5.25-inch drive bays for attaching a Blu-ray drive, a multi-format card reader, and/or a fan controller.

Speaking of cooling, CyberPowerPC’s latest desktop can accommodate up to 10 120mm fans, while also being compatible with water cooling systems.

In fact, users can go for CyberPowerPC’s “Advanced Hydro Liquid Cooling” solution which can be fitted with a 240mm or 360mm radiator to cool both the CPU and the graphics cards installed.

All Zeus systems feature a 10% factory overclock, but users also have the option of going for a 30% overclock for an extra fee.

Pricing for CoberPowerPC’s Zeus desktop starts at $1,000 (767 EUR) and this will get you the AMD FX-8120 equipped Lightning 1000 which packs a CoolIT ECO II-240 liquid cooling system, 8GB of DDR3 memory, an AMD Radeon HD 7750 graphics card, 2TB of storage space and Windows 7 HP 64-bit.

If you prefer an Intel powered system, then the $1,325 (1,017 EUR) Zeus Thunder 1000 is the cheapest option available.

This swaps the FX-8120 with an Intel Core i7 2600K CPU, adds another 8GB of RAM for a total of 16GB of system memory and upgrades the graphics card to an AMD Radeon HD 7770.
