There is one with an Intel Core i3 CPU, but still AMD add-in graphics

When it comes to gaming systems, Intel's Core-series are usually the central processing units used, but Advanced Micro Devices has some strong chips of its own, chips which CyberPower decided to use in its new series of desktop PCs.

Said collection of desktops is called Mega Miner and is composed of three computers, the Mega Miner 100, Mega Miner 200, and Mega Miner 300.

As one might expect, the strongest one, Mega Miner 300, is the one featuring an Intel Core CPU, the Core i3 4130 Processor to be precise.

The other two both use an AMD FX-4300 accelerated processing units, which is far from the best APU CPU that AMD has.

Then again, CyberPower wasn't aiming to provide the absolute best PCs ever. More like give customers a good computer that can also mine for virtual currency while they're playing a game.

And the performance of that depends almost completely on the quality of the graphics card, not the memory or CPU.

It's why all three new computers have a pair of boards each, or three cards. One of them will run your game for you, the other(s) will mine for Bitcoins. Cryptocurrency mining software allows you to allocate the resources of the boards like that. Up to 1000KHash/sec can be achieved on a single card.

And because mining for crypto currency can be a power-hungry affair, the computers use Thermaltake DPS series of 80 Plus digital power supplies, which can monitor the electricity cost.

For those who want to know exactly what each PC has to offer, the Mega Miner 100 backs the AMD FX-4300 APU CPU with 4 GB of DDR3-1600 memory. Also, the computer has a 24X DVDR writer drive.

The two video cards are AMD R9 270X 2GB in CrossFireX, and storage comes from a 500GB SATA3 7200 RPM HDD.

Finally, all the hardware is held together on the Gigabyte 970A-DS3P motherboard. The price is of $989 / €989.

The Mega Miner 200 features the same processor-memory configuration and the same storage option, but three AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB video adapters. Also, an ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX Motherboard holds everything together. The price is of $1,929 / €1,929.

Finally, the Miner 300 has that Intel CPU, 4 GB DDR3 memory, three AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB graphics cards, a SATA III HDD of 1 TB (7,200 RPM, like the others) and MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX Motherboard. Its price is of $2,569 / €2,569.

Update March 23: Fixed mislabel: FX-4300 was mistakenly called an APU instead of CPU (lacks integrated graphics).
