Summer appears to have a strange effect this year, if we are to relate to the gaming ecosystem. The gaming laptops released as of late all seem to come with a uber sleek frame, showing us such devices don’t have to be bulky and heavy.

A few days ago we told you about the new Origin EVO15-S which can rightly be called a high-end gaming Ultrabook.

But Origin isn't the only one to bring such a device out into the sunlight. CyberPower is also following suit by unleashing the newest Zeusbook Edge X6 notebook.

The company is making a pretty bold claim saying the Zeus is the thinnest and lightest do date, measuring just 0.83 inches / 2.1 cm and weighting just 4.75 pounds / 2.15 kgs.

However, we’re not being told what the Zeus is compared against – other similar devices on the market or maybe products from CyberPower’s own portfolio?

Anyway moving along from this mystery, you should know the Zeusbook Edge X6 arrives with a 15.6-inch IPS display that offers 1920 x 1080 resolution, 170-degree viewing angles and boasts 72% color gamut.

Computing-wise, the system thrives on a powerful Intel Core i7-4710HQ Haswell processor which works in concert with NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce GTX 870M with 6GB of VRAM.

Basically, we have the same the configuration as the Origin EVO15-S, but there’s just 3GB of VRAM in this laptop.

However, some customers might be attracted by the fact the EVO offers a better resolution than the Zeusbook. The laptop comes equipped with a 15.6-inch WQHD+ IPS screen with a 2880 x 1620 pixel resolution, so the product could be the right choice for more demanding users.

Moving along, the new lappy incorporates 8GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB hard drive, Wireless N, Bluetooth. On the left side of the device live a Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports, microphone, headphone jacks and SD card reader.

On the right side, we have two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, mini DisplayPort outputs. To provide a rich gaming experience, CyberPower also throws in Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater.

Naturally, the laptop comes with a backlit keyboard, which is illuminated by LEDs. The neat part is that it incorporates a sensor which automatically adjusts the brightness depending on the environment.

A gaming Ultrabook like this doesn't come cheap, so be prepared to spend some money if you really want to grab one.

The starting price for a base model is $1,399 / €1,039, but customers can bump specs up in the RAM and internal memory department with a choice between mSATA SSDs, regular SSDs and hard drives.
