CyberPower has just announced that the company will offer AMD's recently launched Radeon HD 6990 graphics card across a wide range of high-end desktop systems, ranging from the Gamer Dragon and Ultra all the way to its extreme Fang EVO Series.

The Radeon HD 6990 features two Cayman XT GPUs clocked at 830MHz, 3072 stream processors, 192 texture units, two 256-bit memory channels, and 4GBs of GDDR5 running at 1250MHz (5000MHz effective).

The card also comes equipped with a dual-BIOS switch that changes between a normal operating mode and an overclocked mode that raises the frequency of the two cores to 880MHz as well as their operating voltage from 1.12V to 1.175V.

This allows for better performance, but also increases the TDP, and the heat output, of the card to a whopping 450W, so a well-ventilated case is required if such a card is installed inside the system (as a part of the hot air is expelled back into the chassis).

However, CyberPower states that this isn't a problem and that their system have been specially designed to allows for such high-performance graphics cards to be installed without requiring any additional modifications.

Furthermore, some of the systems can be configured with two such solutions in Quad CrossFireX.

All CyberPower desktops based on the Radeon HD 6990 cards can be easily customized with a number of hard drives and/or SSDs, optical drive, memory, and other peripheral component options at the company website.

Sadly, the Radeon HD 6990 is not yet listed as an option in CyberPower's online configurator, but the card is expected to become available soon.

According to the company, the starting price for a CyberPower Radeon HD 6990-based system is $1,399.00, but no details regarding its specifications were provided.

Until now, Maingear is the only other custom PC builder that has announced to use the Radeon HD 6990 in its systems.
