CyberPower Gaming Rigs Get Six Cores

As expected, the Intel Core i7 980X central processing unit, otherwise known as the six-core Gulftown CPU, has made its debut in force, having been reviewed by a rather significant number of websites. Considering that this chip was one of the most highly anticipated products of this quarter, matched, perhaps, only by the still unreleased Fermi cards from NVIDIA, it is not surprising to see PC makers already offering the chip as part of their more popular systems. Origin has already revealed its Gulftown-powered gaming rig and, unsurprisingly, it did not take long for others to catch up and offer their own systems.

The new six-core-based systems now introduced are the Black Mamba, the Black Pearl and the Gamer Xtreme 3D 3000. They belong to PC vendor CyberPower and pack the latest in high-performance graphics, memory, storage, connectivity and I/O capabilities. Like all other gaming offers, the rigs have stylish, imposing and well-constructed casings and component combinations that more than satisfy all but the most hard-core of enthusiasts.

Of course, CyberPower does not expect to win the hearts, minds and cash of customers by simply offering the same as any other PC vendor. As such, the company has decided to offer consumers the option of Venom Boost technology. When implemented, this feature can push performance levels higher than any applications could possibly need. More precisely, Venom Boost is an overclocking technology that can push the CPU's clock up to 30% higher than the stock frequency. This is quite significant, considering that the reference clock of each of the Gulftown's six cores is of 3.33Ghz.

The Black Mamba, Black Pearl and Gamer Xtreme 3D 3000 gaming systems can be ordered through the company's official online store. In addition, the company will soon make the Gulftown available as an option on all its X58-based PCs.
