Certification issues are to blame for postponing the update

The last week of March should have been great for OnePlus One owners, as the Chinese company announced that its flagship smartphone would receive OxygenOS and CyanogenMod 12 updates during that time.

Unfortunately, OnePlus One owners have moved from ecstasy to agony in less than a week. First, those with OnePlus One smartphones powered by OxygenOS have been informed that their promised update has been delayed.

“The ROM is fully functional and we have quite a few people in the office running it on their own devices without any issues. The delay is caused by extra quality control.

“We want to make sure that OxygenOS passes Google certification, that all future updates can be OTA'ed properly, and that users from all over the world are able to use OxygenOS in the language of their choice,” said OnePlus' head of mobile product in a blog post.

At that time, OnePlus said that it did not have any update regarding the CyanogenMod 12 update, but that they would share any new info that emerges.

OnePlus promises to be more careful with its ETAs

The deadline for the release of CyanogenMod 12 OS for OnePlus One was on March 31, but the Chinese company delayed this update as well. Here is OnePlus' official statement:

“Unfortunately, CM12 won't be OTAing today due to certification issues as well. All parties are working together to resolve the problems as soon as possible. I understand the frustration and we will definitely be more careful with our ETAs in the future.”

The next update informs OnePlus One owners that there are no updates on the matter and that no additional info will be available for the next few days.

Here is hoping OnePlus manages to release OxygenOS and CyanogenMod 12 OS updates sooner rather than later. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
