Owners of the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 and HD 8.9 (2012) tablets, you have a new reason to be happy about. From now on you too can install CyanogenMod 11 Nightly builds.

Basically, CyanogenMod 11 is a build based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but, since the ROM is a “nitghtly,” you can expect to run into a few bugs and some incongruities related to certain features.

Nevertheless, the Cyanogen team is actively working on improvements, so these problems will certainly be fixed in future releases.

The builds are available for download, so if you’re a user that knows the ways of flashing a ROM, you can go ahead and get them from the Cyanogen website. However, be advised that installing a custom ROM will void and null your device warranty.

The Amazon Kindle Fire 7 (2012) is a tablet that comes with a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz fitted with 1GB of RAM and with either 16GB of 32GB of internal storage.

The Amazon Kindle Fire 8.9 (2012) slate comes with a full HD display and draws its life source from a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, combined with 1GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
