For those of you that aren't really ready to jump into the Nightlies bandwagon but would still have a taste of it, there’s always the CyanogenMod 11 M3 alternative.

The M3 build of CyanogenMod 11 (KitKat) has been made available for a number of tablets, including the Acer Iconia Tab A700, LG G Pad 8.3 and Barnes & Noble Nook and Nook Color.

The M3 builds gather the best there is from the ROM and are released about every month, so you should expect less bugs with them, but keep in mind that they are still not an official or stable build.

Nevertheless, the CM M3s usually end up working even better than the read deal, so you shouldn't be encountering any grave issues.

The M3 is already available for the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet and more models will be added soon, so if you don’t see your device, don’t fret. Keep in mind that you shouldn't be skipping the updated Gapps pack and remember to back up before you start.
