Google officially announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform two months ago and already launched the first device powered by the new operating system, Nexus 7.

The search giant promised that a few smartphones would receive Jelly Bean in the form of upgrades, including Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Motorola XOOM.

However, most ICS-based devices have yet to be confirmed for this upgrade, as handset makers currently work on announcing new devices that run Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean platform out of the box.

According to the latest rumors, Samsung will be among the first to announce plans for an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade schedule. The company is expected to release the hotly-anticipated update for Galaxy S III later this week at IFA 2012, in Berlin.

Still, Android enthusiasts who own other devices are somehow left out for the moment, which is why the folks that made CyanogenMod possible are working night and day to offer fully functional, customized Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROMs.

The first Jelly Bean ROMs cooked by the community were plagued by several issues, but things have been ironed out by the developers and these experimental builds have now reached Nightly Build status.

Basically, this means that are fully supported by CyanogenMod team, so expect everything to work smoother than ever.

Even though only a handful of devices are now supported, Android fans should rest assured that the CyanogenMod team will expand the availability of these Nightly Builds to more handsets in the following weeks.

For the time being, the team of developers released a new line up of Nightly Builds for HTC One XL (evita), HTC One S (ville), HTC EVO 4G LTE (jewel) and Samsung Galaxy S III (US Cellular version).

Those who wish to try out these newly released Nightly Builds should head over to CyanogenMod downloads page.
