Owners of Sony Xperia devices released last year can now get a taste of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, though in an unofficial manner.

An alpha flavor of the CyanogenMod 10 software is available for these handsets, following its availability for Xperia S only a few weeks ago.

However, users should know that the software is still in its early stages of development, and that it is not recommended for everyday use.

Nevertheless, those who already rooted their handsets and would like to take Jelly Bean for a spin can grab the available ROMs and play with them a bit.

The specific instructions for installing CM10 on each of the aforementioned Xperia handsets can be found on the XDA-Developers forum. Links to the respective forum threads are available on this post on XperiaBlog.
