Over the weekend, CyanogenMod, the team of developers behind one of the most popular custom software for Android-based devices, has announced the release of a new version of their CM 10.2.1 branch.

Pushed out as a maintenance release, the new CyanogenMod 10.2.1 build is the last to arrive from the team with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system packed inside.

The new CM flavor comes with support for some more devices when compared to the previous release, the team also confirmed.

“CM 10.2.1 has been branched and released, officially ending our planned release process for Jellybean (Android 4.3) code,” a recent post on the CyanogenMod blog reads.

“Included in the release are various devices that did not see a 10.2.0 build, such as the Droid RAZR HD, Photon Q, Nexus Q, Nook, Nook HD & HD+ and more.”

Furthermore, the software’s developers announced that the new version of the ROM will bring along mainly bug fixes when compared to the CyanogenMod 10.2.0 version.

“This release does not bring a wealth of new features on top of 10.2.0, but instead focuses on bug fixes, APN updates, localization (translations), and some back port of code (and fixes) from CM11 (Android 4.4 Kitkat),” said blog post continues.

Moving forth, we should see the team making available new builds in the CyanogenMod 11 branch, which is based on the latest version of Android out there, namely the aforementioned 4.4 KitKat.

Those who would like to download the new CM 10.2.1 software should head over to the CyanogenMod website for that. Keep in mind that not all smartphones and tablets out there are supported.

“To those who prefer to build your own releases, the 10.2.1 code can be found under the branch name ‘stable/cm-10.2′on our Github,” the aforementioned blog post also unveils. You should simply head to this page to download the code.
