Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest flavor of Google’s mobile operating system, might not be as close as wanted to being released on various high-end smartphones out there, yet unofficial releases will arrive sooner rather than later, it seems.
Based on Android 4.2.1, CyanogenMod 10.1, the latest version of the popular third-party custom ROM for such devices, is shaping up nicely with support for more handsets out there.
After it has already been pushed out to Nexus 4 users, the CM 10.1 release appears to be nearing availability for smartphones such as Galaxy S III and Xperia T as well.
Early builds have already been loaded on these smartphones and the CyanogenMod team published proof of it running on Xperia T and Galaxy S III (for Sprint and T-Mobile). Unfortunately, no specific info on when we’ll see them generally available has been provided.
