A new set of CyanogenMod 10.1 builds are now available for download for users interested in loading unofficial software on their Android devices, namely the CM10.1 M3 builds.

They are part of the monthly set of updates that the CyanogenMod team started to roll out several months ago, and they bring along various enhancements over last month’s M2 builds.

One of them is the new Superuser app from Koush, which has been integrated into CyanogenMod 10.1, and which is now available for all users with supported devices to enjoy.

A total number of 18 handsets and tablet PCs can be updated to the new M3 release, including the Google Nexus 4, Google Galaxy Nexus (GSM, Verizon, Sprint), Google Nexus S, Google Nexus S 4G, Google Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi and 3G), and Google Nexus Q, as Android Police notes.

Additionally, the CyanogenMod 10.1 builds are available for various Samsung Galaxy handsets, including the Galaxy Note (AT&T, T-Mobile US), Galaxy S III (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile US, Verizon, Metro PCS), Galaxy S II (G, T-Mobile US, AT&T LTE), Epic 4G, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1", and the Galaxy Tab 2 7" (Wi-Fi and 3G).

Other smartphones and slates supported in this release include HTC One X, Hardkernel ODROID-U2, LG Nitro HD / Optimus LTE, LG Optimus LTE (SKT), LG Optimus L9, LG Spectrum, and Acer Iconia A700.

Owners of any of these handsets who already have a CyanogenMod ROM installed can download the updated builds through going to Settings > About phone > CyanogenMod updates > Check for Updates.

Those who did not load CM on their devices before but would like to do so should head over to the CyanogenMod download website and grab the new releases.

They should keep in mind, however, that these are custom ROMs, and that they require root access. Installing them will void warranty, and users will be the only ones held responsible in the event that their devices are harmed during the rooting or installation process.
