Cut the Rope, the popular game for mobile phones developed by ZeptoLab has just made its jump on the Android platform

Initially launched for the iOS platform, Cut the Rope application quickly became a huge success reaching the #1 spot globally in the App Store.

Furthermore, the application recently won the coveted Apple Design Award for the Best iPhone Developer showcase as well as a BAFTA award for Best Handheld Game.

For those who haven't tried the game yet, Cut the Rope is an addictive, physics-based game that resembles the old Incredible Machine series of games for the PC.

The action of the game centers on Om Nom, an adorable, but ravenous little green monster that has but one passion, candies.

This is where the players come in action as they must cut an increasingly complicated series of ropes to release the candy into the mouth of Om Nom, while capturing a series of stars on the way down.

The more stars a player manages to capture, the higher the score will be in the end. The puzzle game combines outstanding physics and currently offers players 175 tricky levels full of colorful and high-definition visuals.

However, ZeptoLab is known for adding more levels to the game on a regular basis, which means more fun for those who purchase Cut the Rope for Android.

Demand for Cut the Rope on Android has surged since we first launched on the iOS platform last year. We have worked diligently to bring the same level of quality gameplay and fun to Android users that iOS users have been enjoying over the past year,” said Efim Voinov, CTO at ZeptoLab.

The ad-free version of Cut the Rope is now available in the Android Market for only $0.99 and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 or higher.
