Today, popular game publisher ZeptoLab has officially announced plans to launch a new title in its Cut the Rope series, namely Cut the Rope 2.

The new game will become available before the end of the year, and will provide users with a redesigned experience, the company announced.

Cut the Rope 2 will arrive with new candy-filled adventures and physics-based levels, while also being set to expand the ZeptoLab portfolio with charming characters.

“The game will re-imagine the universe of Om Nom, the iconic star of Cut the Rope, with new twists on classic gameplay, never-before-seen characters, interactive environments and a captivating story that will appeal to new players and existing fans alike,” the company said.

In addition to announcing the upcoming title, the game publisher has also unveiled over 400 million global downloads for its games.

The company released the original Cut the Rope game back in 2010, and has also published sequels such as Cut the Rope: Experiments and Cut the Rope: Time Travel, both of which have proved to be smashing hits.

The company has also published Pudding Monsters, as well as multiple level pack updates and special editions, summing up over 875 levels and many hours of gameplay.

“We remain dedicated to our mission: examining the science of fun. That means building experiences that players love,” said Misha Lyalin, ZeptoLab CEO.

“Cut the Rope 2 is a massive step forward for the game. Amazing graphics, gameplay and characters drive a brand new experience that fans are going to love.”

ZeptoLab’s Cut the Rope: Time Travel, which landed on devices in April this year, has already received great reviews and has registered over 20 million downloads to date.

Cut the Rope 2 is set to bring along a new level of fun to all users out there. It will be accompanied by a new season of ZeptoPab’s award-winning webisode series, “Om Nom Stories.”

Further info on what Cut the Rope 2 will have to deliver to its users, as well as on the gameplay mechanics, will be unveiled later this year.
