14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of Android-based devices can now download and install the sequel to the popular Cut the Rope mobile game, after the title arrived on iOS handsets back in December 2013.
Called Cut the Rope 2, it comes to Android for free, although it was priced at $0.99 on iOS. ZeptoLab, the company behind the title, also announced today that its franchise has reached 500 million downloads to date.
The mobile game arrives on Android devices with brand new challenges, as well as with unanticipated obstacles, but features the same Om Nom monster from the previous installments in the series.
Unfortunately, although the title is already live in the Google Play Store, it appears to be yet unavailable for users in some markets. Furthermore, it seems that it might not offer support for Android 4.4 KitKat devices as of yet.
“Cut the Rope 2 brings fresh challenges and unanticipated obstacles to the candy crunching, physics-based phenomenon that has delighted millions of players around the world! If you like Cut the Rope, you’ll love Cut the Rope 2,” ZeptoLab notes in the game’s description.
“With new characters, fresh gameplay elements, and, of course, Om Nom, candy collecting has never been so fun! Complete tricky missions to earn medals, advance in the game and access special levels. Play with your friends to see who can get the highest score, or tackle the puzzles on your own!”
In the new adventure, Om Nom is no longer confined to its box, and sets off on a journey through lush forests, busy cities, junkyards, and underground tunnels. However, it remains the same candy-loving monster that users have met before.
In Cut the Rope 2, Om Nom also encounters 5 new characters, called Nommies, which are nothing else than cute candy-collecting helpers.
The group of Nommies includes Roto, which can carry Om Nom to the best locations for catching candy, Lick, which can make small bridges to help Om Nom, Blue, which can lift Om Nom, Toss, which can throw objects, including candy, and Boo, which can scare Om Nom to jump to new heights.
At the same time, the new mobile game provides users with the possibility to customize Om Nom, to choose their favorite candy, and to opt in from a series of finger traces.
There are also completely new graphics to enjoy when playing the new title, along with a series of sound and gameplay elements that haven’t been included in previous titles in the series, such as the option to move Om Nom.
To complete the mission in each level, users will need to collect the perfect number of stars, while also having to strategically gather fruit.
