Google News is a service provided by Google that receives news from sources located in the entire world, giving you the possibility to filter the content by multiple categories. Google News caused a lot of contradictory conversations because some people say that the service is receiving unfair popularity because it does nothing more than receiving news from its sources.
Some time ago, the search giant decided to release a mobile version of
the Google News service that allows you to read the latest news directly from your mobile device. This way, you can access your category without the need of a computer connected to the internet.
Until now, Google allows its users to view only the top stories and read the ones they select but without any possibility to configure your favorite sources, category or subject. Today, Google added a new feature to the mobile news website that helps you customize the service, giving you the possibility of adapting it to your needs.
"Google News Mobile has added a feature found in the desktop version - personalized news. You can now add a section to track specific keywords or subjects on the go. In addition, you can reorder sections or delete them entirely," Steve Rubel said on the official blog.
"The selection and placement of stories on Google News are automatically determined by a computer algorithm. There are no human editors involved. To ensure that you can easily read the news that you want, Google News only displays sources designed specifically for viewing on mobile phones," Google added.
If you want to test the new feature, you should visit the official website of the service from your phone's browser or, if you own a PDA or Smartphone, you can also view the HTML version of Google News.
