Customer Service Doesn't Help Harassed Boy on Xbox Live

One gamer has been left "utterly disappointed" by the Xbox Live Customer Service after no actions were made following his reports that somebody is harassing his little brother through Xbox Live.
The guy even has the needed proof and actually knows who the person really is, but nothing can be done, according to the Customer Service.

Everything started, as egmfan89 reports on his livejournal.com page, when he started to play Mass Effect and received a message that was sent to his little brother. A person pretending to be a Microsoft employee said in that message that he is tracking hackers and found that the teen had been "stealing Xbox Live". Even though the older brother tried to sort the things out, three more messages arrived from the same guy who called himself "Microsoft Employee #A3", and they all contained ban threats, as well as credit card problems.

A quick search for the Xbox username found a MySpace match - it was the same 14 year old bully that bothered egmfan89's brother for three years, harassing him at parties, school and phone calls. It was then when the older brother called the Xbox Live Customer Service to report the whole thing but got a strange "no-no" answer. Even though the woman on the other end of the line agreed that a minor should not be harassed online, she said that they will investigate if more people complain about the user. Of course that would be impossible, since the bully has only one target.

So everybody can understand the frustration this person felt when being left outside by the service he is paying money to. The guy also sent an e-mail to the customer support, but received no answer. And the same "more complaints needed" line was given to the boy's mom when she called for help. And that is a nice one, as egmfan89 notices: "So now Microsoft expects more to complain about this boy harassing MY little brother. How likely is that to occur, really?".

XBL does have a block feature. This is probably what MS Customer Service recommended. Block the offending user, and never receive their messages again.

I think just about everyone who owns a 360 and has talked to support can tell you what a bunch of garbage it is. I mean, charge me $60 a year for a service I have to be Bi-lingual to troubleshoot? no thanks...

hello,i am an avid gamer on xbox live and i play on a 3rd person shooter game more than any other game, this game is called red dead redemption and i have been a pretty devoted player since it came out almost two years ago,and i have been harassed and bullied almost for that entire two years and the only way to contact anyone about the harassment is by submitting avoid player review on the gamers or filing a complaint and i have been doing this for two years with no results!! so i took a 3 month break from red dead to regain my composure(so to speak) so i figured that when i returned, that i would change my gamer tag and start vido recording any one and every one that did anything to violate the code of conduct, well i have a youtube account and i have 34 videos on their from modders to cheaters to just little kids talking trash, and i really believed that by doing this and having the hard evidence would get them banned or at least suspended, but even after all i have done xbox live, rockstar games, and microsoft only care about your money and as i have been saying for some time now, they are much like a slum lord...they never are their to solve your problems but they are always their to take your rent money!! but after i started recording these offenders they caught wind of it and now the are posting comments about my family on a website,so they have crossed the line so i guess im gonna have to contact a lawyer to try to bring charges against these gamers, their familys and xbox live.
