Custom Samsung USB Driver Is Here to Replace the Kies-Provided One
Version 188.8.131.52 is addressed to Galaxy S, SII, SIII or all other Samsung Android phones
SamHaLeKe, a member of the XDA Developers community, has just released a replacement for Kies-provided driver. It was not accompanied by any release notes, but some installation instructions. To begin with, uninstall previous drivers from the Add/Remove Programs window. A first restart is needed at this point. After the system has loaded, install the new drivers.
The installation procedure is a little tricky but not impossible. First, unpack the freshly downloaded driver, then put your phone in “download mode” (press Power+Vol Up+Home simultaneously).
When you see a droid digging in the dirt on your screen, it's time to connect the phone to one of the USB ports on your PC. Windows will discover it as some device.
In the “Device Manager” windows, look for the device found, right click it and select “update driver.” Search and select the freshly unpacked files. The driver should be installed automatically.
After the installation, unknown devices may appear in the Device Manager window. Simply redo the “update driver” sequence and restart the computer when done.
Now that you know the procedure, click the link below to get the update. Bear in mind, though, that this is not an official release and, therefore, Softpedia cannot be held responsible for system malfunctions on your device.
