Two appealing mobile phones available on the market with Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, namely the LG Expo and Toshiba TG01, have just received custom ROMs meant to enhance the user experience they can deliver. They are not official ROMs, but come with the latest 23563 build of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and Windows Mobile 6.5.5, and include a series of tweaks, along with some bug fixes.

The 23563 ROM released for the high-end LG Expo comes with a series of reg tweaks and optimizations, as a recent post on xda-developers forum notes. The solution includes the Microsoft Office Mobile 2010, IQ shutdown animations, LG EZ Tip Calculator, and more. At the same time, a series of apps were removed from the package, including AT&s Games & Java apps, AT&T Navigator, LG Idles, Remote Desktop Mobile, and others more.

Those interested in downloading and installing the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 ROM should back up all data on their handset before proceeding with the installation process, so as to make sure that no important files are lost. As the same time, they should be aware of the fact that there are some known issues with the solution, which might prove rather annoying.

As for the Toshiba TG01, the most recent ROM released for it is running on Windows Mobile 6.5.5 CE OS 5.2.23563. The same as with the ROM for LG Expo, the new solution is meant to improve the experience one receives from the handset, and the fixes, tweaks and improvements packed inside it should do just that. As this is not an official ROM either, all the necessary precautions should be taken in case one plans on installing it.

According to the xda-developers forum member who published the ROM, its main features would be: - no more masterclear bug - added new theme and single power icon - free RAM on boot is about 80M, ROM is 231.23MB - add shutdown in the start menu, so that the phone can be shut without the power key - one can change theme to Condor GT Black Edition in the Setting-Home.
